What value is there in Neuroscience?
The following is a copy of my contribution at the Panel discussion I was a part of, during the 1st International Conference of Applied Neuroscience, along with John Arden, Daren Wilson, Thedy Veliz, and Roger Mysliwiec.

This means I will help you understand how your brain and body are responding normally to your stress and relationships, but may not be responding as effectively as possible. I will help you learn ways you can change the discomfort that drives you to fight or flee that stress so you can learn to manage it more effectively. |
What is neuropsychotherapy?
Neuropsychotherapy is an integrative approach to therapy that considers all levels of influence from internal biological and learned (neurally stored) influences to external social/cultural (environmental) influences on a person’s well-being with a focus on applying existing and developing neuroscientific research. So what does this mean? This means I will teach you about what's happening in your brain and body and help you understand what you're experiencing with stress and I will work to help you establish effective change that always take your brain into consideration. We MUST work with the brain, not against it! This is what it means to use a bottom-up approach, before a top-down approach. Surviving before thriving is what the brain requires! And what's a "top-down approach" vs a "bottom-up approach"?
A top down approach is one that does not satisfy our survival brain needs first. For instance, trying to convince yourself to stop yelling so much, ignores that we have a drive for dopamine, which is produced with anything we perceive, through prior learning, as satisfying (such as yelling, when we feel vulnerable). A bottom-up approach helps you access problem solving skills that offer satisfaction (dopamine), so the need for yelling becomes less necessary in order to achieve dopamine production. |
What is Rapid Resolution Therapy?
One of the forms of treatment I offer is called Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT). RRT utilizes Memory Reconsolidation, which erases traumatic and difficult emotions that become attached to memories so those emotional memories can no longer hold you hostage. RRT takes as little as 15 minutes to only a couple of sessions to complete. This process is based in science and is highly effective!
You can learn more about RRT here and you can learn more about memory consolidation here.

I don't advocate for things I haven't tried. RRT helped me get over my fear of public speaking, among other stresses and trauma's.
